James Conor Patterson is from Newry, Co. Down in the North of Ireland. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Irish Times, Magma, The Moth, Morning Star, New Irish Writing, New Statesman, Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly and The Tangerine. In 2015 he read as part of the Poetry Ireland Introductions series and in 2013 he received the iYeats ‘Emerging Talent’ Award for poetry. He has been highly commended for the Patrick Kavanagh Award, shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and longlisted for the Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition. In 2012 he was featured in the wordlegs anthology ’30 Under 30′. He has an MA in Creative Writing from Queen’s University Belfast and writes across various genres, including poetry, fiction and essay writing.
